Corb Lund embraces his rich and rustic western heritage with a style that’s unique, honest and resolute, while touching on a range of cowboy themes — from rough-and-tumble tales of lawless frontier saloons, to the sombre realities of running a modern family ranch. As a descendant of many generations of rodeo contestants and ranchers, he sings about a life that he and his ancestors have lived themselves, paired with his quick-witted, wry observations of today’s world. As a result of his heritage and the ten years he spent touring the world with his indie rock band, Corb’s writing resonates emphatically with rural and urban audiences alike. It’s a classic sound with a twist, something of a rarity these days, but one that evokes the spirit of the American West, past and present.
Corb Lund’s 11th studio album, Agricultural Tragic, finally puts a name to the genre he’s been embodying all of these years.

Prior to his untimely passing, Chester personally announced a 2017 Grey Daze reunion on social media. As he never got the chance to launch the reunion himself, his bandmates, friends, family, and various collaborators stepped up to give the music the second chance it deserved, finishing what the late singer started. The musicians—longtime members Sean Dowdell [drums, backing vocals] and Mace Beyers [bass] as well as Cristin Davis [guitar] recruited in 2017—curated eleven tracks from their catalog and rerecorded the music in 2019 to accompany Chester’s original vocals, which comprised many unheard takes from the vault. Released by Tom Whalley’s Loma Vista Recordings and produced by Jay Baumgardner, the result illuminates the prophetic power of an icon on the cusp of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most significant revolutions and deepens his already venerable legacy in the process.
Limited orange colored ten-inch vinyl pressing. Following the band's Global Citizen performance, The Rolling Stones have released a new song, "Living In A Ghost Town". This is the band's first new material in eight years. The track was written by Mick and Keith which was created/recorded in Los Angeles and London while in isolation. An official music video showcasing empty cities around the world premiered recently.
Khruangbin has always been multilingual, weaving far-flung musical languages like East Asian surf-rock, Persian funk, and Jamaican dub into mellifluous harmony. But on its third album, it’s finally speaking out loud. Mordechai features vocals prominently on nearly every song, a first for the mostly instrumental band. It’s a shift that rewards the risk, reorienting Khruangbin’s transportive sound toward a new sense of emotional directness, without losing the spirit of nomadic wandering that’s always defined it. And it all started with them coming home.

The Strange Weather recordings piqued the interest of indie record label Fat Possum. This recording, which can justifiably be described as "new age" in the most essential sense, represents a radical new approach to the versatile and cosmic instrument of the steel guitar. This is something new under the sun, a total reinvention of an iconic instrument. Quite literally, there has never been anything else quite like it. All of the sounds heard on this album were made with a 1967 Emmons Push/Pull pedal steel guitar by Luke Schneider, a popular session musician in Nashville, Tennessee. Luke has been an important band member for artists such as Caitlyn Rose, Margo Price, and Orville Peck.
Altar Of Harmony is extraordinarily cinematic, an epic musical devotional to higher realms — booming music of the spheres. Regardless of its origins, the expression unmistakable. This is the sound of Valhalla, of heaven, planetary alignment, of total eclipse. This is the sound of an angelic army roaring into battle. This is the heavy metal thunder of the future we were promised. Music for the end of the world. At very least, music of transformation. Sunset on the old way of life, sunrise on the new.
The 11 songs on 'Welcome to Bobby's Motel' ' Pottery's debut album - don't just invite you to move your body; they command you to. Fusing reckless, manic energy with painstaking precision, the record is part post-punk, part art-pop, and part dance floor acid trip, hinting at everything from LCD Soundsytem, Devo, Parquet Courts, and Gang of Four as it boldly careens through genres and decades. The music is driven by explosive drums and off-kilter guitar riffs that drill themselves into your brain, accented with deep, funky grooves and rousing gang vocals. The production is similarly raw and wild, suggesting an air of anarchy that belies the music's careful architecture and meticulous construction. The result is an album full of ambitious, complex performances that exude joy and mayhem in equal measure, a collection that's alternately virtuosic, chaotic, and pure fun.
Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs is a place that exists geographically, but it is also a place that exists in my mind. When I was a child, we crossed the village sign during our journeys between Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and Rivière-Ouelle. Whenever I saw him, I looked away, shivering in horror. This name terrified me. I imagined a dying village with suppliant houses, deserted streets and squeaky chairs still rocking the memory of the deserters. And now, after several years of overwork, I found myself exactly at this place. At the center of all my anxieties, not knowing who I was, taking the blows and hating myself more than anyone. It is a thick fog that has settled inside my head, a black and opaque sky. I now lived in this island that I had built, imagined myself. I was lying in the dark on the rainbow bed. Then in August 2019, when I started to get the upper hand on myself, I decided to go visit Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs, the village. I first discovered something quite significant: it is an island. I took the ferry and arrived at an idyllic location. A village on dirt roads with no more than 35 people and whose soul has not been perverted or distorted by humans. A village without a grocery store or service station. A beautiful place. With trees and flowers, a lighthouse, colorful wooden houses and fish whose pure flesh dismantled my definition of the color pink. The village I imagined as a child, I crossed it slowly and I never want to go back there. Now, I will go to the real Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs, the one where I eat fish that smells of the river and whose color mystifies me.
Estereomance combines elements of soul, funk, electronic, pop, and jazz to create a charming romantic indie blend to represent the melting pot they're from. The debut self-titled album is a 7-song feel-good record that mixes multicultural influences to create a tasteful mix of vintage soul with modern bedroom pop. Available June 26th, the album is about discovering self-empowerment by overcoming life's struggles. It's about finding optimism by forgetting the past and looking up for the future.
Reissue of Friedrich Gulda's iconic Mozart Concertos with Abbado on CD and Blu-ray Audio, celebrating Gulda's 90th birthday.
Will Hoge didn’t really need to release a new album in 2018. His most recent, Anchors came out last August, reaching No. 6 on Billboard Heatseekers and the Top 20 on the Indie chart. He’d toured the United States and Europe, and could’ve settled in from there. But there was something he couldn’t stop thinking about: his children.
Border police. Political corruption. Anti-intellectualism. Poverty. Gun control. A broken education system. Indifference to others’ suffering. Each of these things influenced Hoge’s new album My American Dream which will be released October 5th. Hoge turned to music on his frustrations in hopes to make a difference for the future of his children.
With My American Dream, Hoge hopes that others will follow his lead, see the world through someone else’s eyes, and maybe — just maybe — begin to fix the mess we’re living in.
This special 40th anniversary edition of the Red Cross EP, which includes the band's six-song eponymous debut and adds five contemporaneous extra tracks, is the most comprehensive document to date of the extraordinary birth of Redd Kross. Redd Kross incubated alongside such SoCal luminaries as Black Flag, Descendents, and the Minutemen, and this new 11-song collection-which includes rare and unreleased demos plus a live track recorded in 1979 at "The Church," the infamous Black Flag birthplace in Hermosa Beach, CA-puts in proper perspective the McDonald brothers' contribution, at the ridiculously precocious ages of 12 and 16, to that area's punk scene.
Losing someone close to you creates an almost phantom limb-like effect. Often, it feels like they're a phone call away. But that instant between when you reach for the phone and when your brain delivers the new reality to you is a strange, momentary eternity. It's both an uncompromising void and maybe as close as you'll ever come to communing with that loved one again. On her new song "Sandwiches," Gordi harnesses all the sadness and glory of this feeling into a soaring, post-new wave anthem. One of the first true Gordi "guitar songs," it shimmers with the lush-yet-fragile momentum of The Cranberries' classic "Dreams." Gordi wrote "Sandwiches" as a tribute to the matriarch of her family. Her late grandmother was, in Gordi's words, "a great feeder of people." So when she fell ill, Gordi and her mother took it upon themselves to nourish the visitors gathered around her hospital bed. As they passed around sandwiches, "someone called out that she was gone." The gravity of the moment was poignant for it's softness and mundanity. Gordi approaches the totality of a loved one's life as measured in the small memories that stay with us. She sings, "When I think of you a movie-reel of moments plays / We'll be in the car or after mass on Saturdays / You'll be walking down the driveway, you'll be in your chair / You'll say 'See you round' or 'Say your "Three"' / And now you're everywhere."Gordi called on long-time collaborators and Bon Iver production duo Chris Messina and Zach Hanson to make "Sandwiches" at her family home in Canowindra, Australia - an old cottage littered with some of Sophie's favorite pieces of musical arsenal combined with some flown in from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The tiny farm town where her family has lived for over a century, Canowindra, and the heart of the matriarch, is embedded in this song. "Her whole life was in Canowindra... we made it in a house that's a hundred meters from her house."
Kitchen Sink follows up Shah's Hyundai Mercury Prize nominated 2017 album Holiday Destination which received critical acclaim including AIM Awards 'Independent Album of the Year', a #7 'Album of the Year' from BBC 6 Music and #5 from The Quietus as well as prominent positions in lists from Loud and Quiet and The Line of Best Fit. With the same ferocious determination and distinct voice Shah now turns her sights closer to home with an album that explores her own story as a woman in her 30's and the societal pressures and expectations that come with that. Jovial and playful at times, unblinkingly daring at others - Kitchen Sink is bursting with Shah’s beloved personality while simultaneously refusing to compromise on the social commentary that she continues to deliver so fearlessly.
2020 release, the debut album from country singer-songwriter Tenille Townes. 2020 release. Following the mythos of the "real" Dr. Frankenstein, Johann Conrad Dippel, who served as the inspiration for the famed novel by Mary Shelley, Carach Angren's Franckensteina Strataemontanus delivers an bombastic symphonic cacophony of necromancy and mad science. Interwoven with haunting keyboards, majestic orchestrations, and a perfect balance of melodic brutality, this album serves as the most theatrical offering from the horror metal masters to date.
Ivy, the band's second album, builds upon the foundation of hopeful optimism found on Charmer's previous releases with biting honesty. The record is a snapshot of the time in everyone's life when they stop long enough to realize everything, including themselves, is changing. The tracks demand listeners let go of their collective nostalgia for the times they thought they would live forever, urging us to live in the present. Pressed on white vinyl w/ orange & blue splatter; includes Download Card.
THE Lickerish Quartet: A supergroup of sought-after musicians, former members of the legendary band, Jellyfish. The journeys of Eric Dover ((Imperial Drag, Slash's Snakepit, Alice Cooper, Sextus), Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Beck, Air, Cheap Trick, Imperial Drag) and Tim Smith (Noel Gallagher, The Finn Brothers, Sheryl Crow) have synchronized for the first time since 1994. Home is a slippery concept for Jonah Mutono. The 25-year-old London-born musician moved to Philadelphia before returning to their native Uganda 9 years later after struggling to find a sense of belonging in the States. Blending R&B, pop and avant-garde, GERG is a rebirth of Jonah's music, bringing his experiences of self-discovery to light- the good, the bad, the beautiful, the challenging, the sacred & the profane-in songs as revealing as they are captivating.
From Eric Bachmann of Archers of Loaf:
Thank you for taking the time to listen to our new 7" single, "Talking Over Talk" b/w "Cruel Reminder. Of all the songs Archers of Loaf have written and recorded over the last 28 years, "Talking Over Talk" ranks 26th (out of around 75, give or take a few) in overall relative quality. It's no rock epic like "Wrong" or "Harnessed in Slums," but it's no snooze fest like "After the Last Laugh" or "Death in the Park," either. If you're a fan already, you'll probably allow it into the lexicon with mild enthusiasm. If you're new to the Archers, however, you probably won't make it through the first minute or so, which is understandable because there are so many other sounds to enjoy during your short time here. "Cruel Reminder," the B-side, comes in at a modest yet impressive 25th place-barely edging out "Talking Over Talk" for the victory. I'd be lying if I told you that applying a "B-side" status to "Cruel Reminder" didn't result in some pretty awkward conversations. Not to point fingers or place blame, but a lot of internal politics and backstabbing dictate what receives A status or B status in this world. A shame, I think. Especially when you consider that the majority of our songs haven't received any status at all.
Limited green and blue colored vinyl LP pressing. Chiptune-Rock band, I Fight Dragons, creates an ode to '90s radio rock, with stadium size drums and guitars combining with their tightest songwriting to date. On her new album Sister Dynamite, L.A. punk icon Alice Bag confronts some of the most pervasive problems troubling the world today: unchecked privilege and willful ignorance, systemic inequality and fragile masculinity. Her third solo effort and first release for In The Red Records, the album also offers an unbridled celebration of community and the undeniable power in embracing one's own truth. In her impassioned push for freedom of all kinds, Bag endlessly transmits a raw and exhilarating energy, ultimately transforming each song into a much-needed antidote to numbness or despair.
The follow-up to 2018's Blueprint-named one of the best albums of the year by NPR Music-Sister Dynamite marks a thrilling return to the full-throttle punk that Bag pioneered with her legendary first-wave punk band, The Bags. With it's breakneck velocity and galvanizing melodies, the album's kinetic sound was partly inspired by Bag's work in producing the latest record by Chicana punk band Fea. "All their songs are rockers, and it made me want to make an album that's upbeat all the way through," she says. To achieve that force-of-nature intensity, Bag teamed up with her core group of musicians, including guitarist Sharif Dumani and bassist David O. Jones. Co-produced by Bag and her longtime collaborator Lysa Flores (who plays rhythm guitar and sings backing vocals on several songs), Sister Dynamite finds Candace P.K. Hansen and Rikki "Styxx" Watson trading off on drums, each lending her distinct musicality to the album's potent rhythms. Throughout Sister Dynamite, Bag reveals her incredible ability to turn nuanced political statement into impossibly catchy punk songs. Raised in East Los Angeles, she first discovered her facility with the grammar of punk upon co-founding The Bags as a teenager in the late '70s (an endeavor that saw her featured in Penelope Spheeris's seminal punk documentary, The Decline Of Western Civilization). Along with playing in a series of groundbreaking bands over the years (including Castration Squad, Cholita, and Las Tres), Bag has devoted much of the past few decades to her work as an educator, activist, feminist archivist, and author of two acclaimed books: her 2011 memoir Violence Girl (now required reading in gender and musicology courses throughout the country) and 2015's Pipe Bomb For The Soul (a self-published title based on her experiences volunteering in post-revolutionary Nicaragua).
South Korean-born rapper, singer, DJ, and producer, ''' Park Hye Jin signs to Ninja Tune and releases her long-awaited record How can I, her first release in 2 years. How can I comes after the her acclaimed debut EP IF U WANT IT, which led her to embark on an international headline tour. How can I blends Korean and English
