Providence, RI was a hotbed of Gg Allin's early career. While he lived in New Hampshire he was banned all over New England and even RI but a new club opened called The Rocket that wanted to make a name for themselves so they booked the infamous GG. Without a band Peter Yarmouth convinced Algae Afterbirth to open for GG and have his band play as GG's band too. The gig was a disaster as the bass amp was wrecked and the show had 2 songs before it became a spoken word performance. You can feel the tension as this crowd was throwing warm cups of recycled beer at him and the threat of a fight carried on all evening. The show put The Rocket quickly on the punk rock map.
